These are general amounts to give you an idea of what I do as well as
what I am likely to charge to do it. Each project is different and each
estimate is done individually. Please contact Sherri for an estimate
before sending any work.
The most general description I give people is that your quilting costs
will depend on two things:
- The size of your quilt (determine the overall measurement of your
project by multiplying the length time the width to get the number
of square inches involved).
- How you want it quilted (simply with lots of space between quilting
lines or densely with elaborate patterns).
- Quilting
- Rates range between one and four cents per square inch (one and a
half cents will give you a nice, overall pattern with stitching lines
3-4 inches apart).
- Extras
- Such as special designs in sashing, individual blocks, and borders
will be priced accordingly.
- Thread
- Always charged per color.
- Binding
- I am happy to bind your quilt. This charge is by the linear inch.
There are two options here, both of which include cutting and sewing
onto quilt by machine:
- Leave the hand finishing for client.
- Hand sew down to back of quilt.
- Piecing Backs, Hanging Sleeves, Basting
- Service for all of these are available.
- Batting
- You may provide your own single piece, clean batting, or purchase
from these available choices:
- Hobbs Heirloom 80% Cotton and 20% Polyester
- Bleached Hobbs Heirloom 80% Cotton and 20% Polyester
- Hobbs 100% Organic Cotton
- Hobbs 100% Polydown
- Minimum Charge
- For all orders is $35.
- Shipping and Handling
- Usually $15 per quilt.
- Deposit
- Half the total amount must be sent with your quilt. The remainder
is due when the quilting is completed, before it is shipped back.
